Stewardship at Cedar springs

A Steward is a person who has been entrusted with another’s resources, and who seeks to manage those resources according to the owner’s vision and values. The gospel tells us that everything we have is a gift from God, and that those gifts are to be used for his glory and to further his kingdom.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.  1 Peter 4:10.

At Cedar Springs, we consider Stewardship a responsibility, an act of worship, and evidence of our faith.  We exercise Stewardship individually through giving of time and money and we exercise Stewardship corporately through the wise and generous use of the gifts given by the congregation.

But this does not tell the whole Stewardship story!  Some of our larger and more active ministries, such as Women’s Ministry, operate on the smallest budgets. This is due to the large number of volunteers in those ministries.  Volunteering to serve is a huge part of Stewardship at Cedar Springs.

All gifts, large or small, are appreciated and are used for the glory of God. The most important part of individual Stewardship, however, is its implication about your personal relationship with God.

Tools available to help you better understand stewardship are:

All donations are deductible if made payable to Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.  As required by IRS law, these donations in order to be deductible are under the control of the ministry’s board.

Home Missions activities and ministry are entirely funded through your General Fund gifts.  World Missions are supported through designated gifts to World Missions.

Gifts designated for Property Acquisition are being used to acquire property adjoining the church as a part of our long-term expansion plan.  $2.2 million is needed to fund these acquisitions.

The summer months are challenging for the church with members traveling and Sunday offerings down.  If you normally give later in the year, please consider making a gift now.  Regular giving to the General Fund and Missions Fund supports all ministries and missions of our church throughout the year.
