Cedar Springs Foundation

OUR MISSIONThe Foundation was created to support the programs, mission and ministries of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church by providing funding of strategic ministries that make a difference in this world and the world to come. The Foundation's annual operating budget is managed on a sound financial basis with low expenses, thereby enabling the vast majority of revenue to be dispersed for grants and outreach ministries in the following areas: WORLD OUTREACH There are a variety of ministries throughout the world. These ministries meet physical, social, and spiritual needs in numerous countries. Some examples of the different focuses are:
When the Foundation receives a gift from a donor who does not specify how it may be used, it is added to the undesignated fund. This is the permanent endowment fund that is the depository for any bequests that do not have specific designations. The major strategic grants come from the earnings of this fund. DESIGNATED FUNDS When a donor specifies an intended use for a gift it is considered a designated fund. Some examples of these funds would be:
EXPENDABLE FUNDS When a donor requests that the gift and all it's earnings be spent over a specified time frame, the gift is considered an expendable fund. DONOR ADVISED FUNDS When a donor gives assets to the Foundation and also serves as an advisor who recommends the grants to be distributed, a donor advised fund is created. Donor advised funds do allow a portion of them to be granted to other causes consistent with the Christian Mission and approved by the Foundation Board of Directors. For information on how to establish a donor advised fund, please contact the Foundation representative, Brenda Bunch (865.291.5203). MEMORIALS A Memorial gift is a thoughtful way to ensure a lasting remembrance of a dear friend, spouse, or relative to further Christ's work. Some examples of ministries that we have been involved with are:
This is not an exhaustive list of the ministries and specific missionaries that we are involved with. All partners have been screened to determine their beliefs and activities are consistent with those of CSPC and the EPC. The Foundation monitors the recipients to determine that the organization's use of the funds comply with the terms of the gift.
