Our Vision

We desire to communicate the story of God’s redemption to the residents of Knoxville so that we lead people to a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ and then teach them to do the same thing.

How Do We Do This?

The task of every local congregation like Cedar Springs is to take God’s mission to its own neighborhood in its language, in its own cultural forms in a winsome and compelling manner.

We begin with worship, which is central to what we do and who we are. We were created for worship and either we worship the one true God or we worship false gods like pleasure, wealth and success. We seek to blend the ancient shape of worship with its most faithful contemporary expressions and present it in the language of the residents of Knoxville.

Then we seek to expand our witness in the community through the creation of neighborhood fellowship groups that meet in the homes and neighborhoods of our members. These groups are designed to provide environments where those who do yet know the redeeming love of God, feel welcome.

Furthermore, the Cedar Springs congregation is involved in many organizations in Knoxville that seek the peace of the city. Not only do we supply financial resources, but many of our people are involved on a volunteer basis.
