Spain | late June

Basketball as a tool of sharing the Gospel? Absolutely! Once again the CSPC Sports Ministry team will be sending a group of 8-10 to Madrid, Spain, during the last week of June to work with CSPC-supported missionaries Jim and Barbara McNamee. Sports Ministry director Mike Wenger explains, “This will be our third year working with Jim and Barbara McNamee of Young Life Spain. Through the utilization of basketball camps for children and home visits, we will be assisting the McNamees in building relationships as well as strengthening the credibility of Young Life.” This is a unique opportunity to experience the culture of Spain, creating life-changing and life-lasting relationships in advancing the gospel. Contact Mike Wenger (291-5236 or wenger@cspc.net) or Jeremy Johnson (291-5265 or jeremyjohnson@cspc.net).

Ecuador | late June/early July

This will be the third year for a team from Cedar Springs to return to the village of Pichiau high in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. The team will stay in nearby Ambato and travel the short distance daily to assist in construction of the IGLESIA CRISTIANA PICAIHUA and lead a week-long VBS for the children of the village. Come experience the unique culture of Ecuador, the beauty of the “Avenue of the Volcanoes” and partnering with Pastor Marco Ruiz in establishing and extending the church of Jesus Christ in Ecuador. A team of 10-12 is being prayed for. If interested, contact Chuck Norman (599-9938 or chucknorman@hotmail.com).

London | July 3 - 15

High School Ministries will be doing ministry in London, England, this summer. Damon Kelly will be leading a group of 16 students who have a unique opportunity in the London school system. This unique situation is the ability to go into the schools (all the way to college!) and teach the Bible, share your faith and interact with the students. The group of 16 will include student leaders as well as high schoolers. This has been an ongoing CSPC trip that has born much fruit. Contact Damon Kelly if you are interested (291-5274 or damonkelly@cspc.net).

Bolivia | early July
Early July will find a team of approximately 18 (3 adults, 15-17 high schoolers and/or college students) returning for another week of ministry in Bolivia. Worship support, VBS, construction, and believer fellowship will be important parts of this sixth trip to Bolivia. A distinctive of the trip will be that 6-7 youth will camp with leader Joe Foy at Alto Aruni, to do construction of a new church, Mosoq Kawsay (New Life). The camping group will be doing construction each day and hiking to the VBS location. For more information contact Joe Foy (539-1182 or foyj@k12tn.net).

China | mid-July

Kimberly Widmer will lead a team of 10 high school and college students to China for 3 weeks in mid-July. This is a repeat trip for Kimberly and the vision she has for the trip includes cultural exchange in Southwest China and teaching ESL to high school students. The students will have opportunities to be exposed to and embrace the Chinese culture through eating in students’ homes, learning the language, and interacting with students outside of a school situation. Several side trips are planned to the countryside to visit various minority groups. As Kimberly states it, “Catch a vision of how God is at work in China and perhaps how you may play a role in His kingdom building activities.” Contact Kimberly for more information (690-3656 or kimberly@petros.com).

Romania | August

Piers Vander will lead a group to Romania with the idea of “Business as Mission” as a key component of the vision for the trip. This team will partner with CRM. The Business as Mission model has done quite well in Romania. CSPC wants to expose young people to a Biblical vision of the Kingdom of God. Piers’ desire is that people will see how they can use their gifts and education to extend God’s kingdom in innovative ways. His desire is that kingdom building will be viewed as a realistic alternative to chasing after the almighty dollar. The team will be required to participate in preparatory studies and will be carefully selected on the depth of their current spiritual lives. Piers is planning an August departure and a return before college begins in the fall. Contact him for more information (291-5217 or piersvander@cspc.net).

Joni & Friends | August 28 - September 1

Laura Payne and a group of 20-25 from CSPC will travel to Lake Martin in Alabama to provide a time for renewal and encouragement for families who are affected in many ways by disabilities. The dates for the camp are August 28 - September 1. Contact person for this trip is Laura Payne (540-3860 or lpayne@joniandfriends.org).

Mekong | October

Piers Vander will be leading a CSPC trip to the Mekong Region in October. Partnering with missionary Jeff A., the vision for this trip is to develop a team for this region much like the Mozambique team. Another desire for this trip is to inspire a group to begin praying regularly for this region. A group of 4-6 people is being prayed for to participate. Prayer walking and documenting the work being done in the region by video are on the agenda for this trip. The trip would last 8-9 days beginning with a flight into Bangkok. People who can relate “heart to heart” as well as people gifted with a talent for video are needed. The team will spend much time in prayer preparing for the trip stateside. If interested contact Piers Vander: (291-5217 or piersvander@cspc.net).
