Do you know someone who has ever hit rock bottom with no hope of recovering? Are you praying for or lending a hand to such a person? The Compassion Ministries team at Cedar Springs is committed to helping you learn how to administer compassion in our community, in “Samaria,” and to the ends of the earth by plugging you into ministries the church supports prayerfully, materially and financially.
Read on to see three case studies which are composites of real, local people whom Cedar Springs helped in the past. While names, photos and small details are altered to protect identities, the rest is sadly true. Continue>
BE COMPASSIONATE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON... STARTING NOW!
If you’ve been coming to Cedar Springs for long, you know that it is a busy place during the holidays. If this is your first holiday with us…welcome! The overflowing baskets lining the Missions Hall might be your first clue that something is afoot.
The Thanksgiving baskets are the first in a long list of holiday outreach efforts that the church does to love our neighbors regardless of whether they’ve ever been to Cedar Springs. Each basket contains a turkey and all of the makings for a holiday dinner.
Even before these treasured baskets are delivered, Christmas outreach begins. Every week between now and December 25, the entire congregation has the opportunity to get involved in holiday ministries to help those in need and to extend the love and gospel of Christ to our neighbors.
