2019 Global Mission Conference Schedule

2019 Global Mission Conference Schedule
February 28 - March 3

THURSDAY, February 28

5:00 p.m. Take a conference guest(s) to supper:
Hosting our guests for a meal in your home OR taking them out to eat at your favorite restaurant is one of the best ways to get to know our guests, hear their stories, make them feel welcome, AND introduce your family and friends to what God is doing around the world! To host a meal, register online today, or stop by the conference signup tables in the Welcome Hall on Sunday mornings leading up to the conference.

6:45 p.m. Visit conference guests’ display tables in the Missions Hallway:
Photos from around the world, unique food samples, trinkets and treasures from foreign lands… You never know what you’ll get to see and experience when you visit one of our guest’s tables! This is also a great time to grab a quick chat with our visitors or request additional information about their ministries.

7:00 p.m. Conference Kick-Off Service in the Sanctuary (Nursery Provided)
Back by popular demand, we are blessed to have Oscar Muriu with us again as our keynote speaker. Oscar is the pastor of Nairobi Chapel in Kenya, and he so colorfully challenged us to “pray great, hairy, bodacious prayers” the last time he was with us. Trust us, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to hear the Word of God preached through our Kenyan brother!

7:00 p.m. Children’s Conference Kick-Off in the Watershed
Kindergarten - 5th graders, you’re invited to join us for an epic adventure of monumental proportion! We have prepared all kinds of group activities that will be both fun, challenging, and a unique way to learn about what God is up to all around the world! Invite your friends and get ready for an action-packed conference! Will you thrive, or just survive??

FRIDAY, March 1

5:00 and 5:30 p.m. Missionfest Supper in the Gym (Tickets Required)
Similar to our monthly Fellowship Dinners, the Missionfest Supper is a great time to enjoy food and fellowship as we break bread with our guests. The chefs from KARM’s Abundant Life Kitchen will be catering a delicious meal with kid-friendly options available. There will be two seatings, 5:00 and 5:30, and tickets will be available for purchase in the Cedar Springs Welcome Hall beginning on February 10th.

6:00-8:00 p.m. Missionfest Sessions (Nursery provided)
Often considered the highlight of our conference, Missionfest gives you the opportunity to attend up to four mini breakout sessions of your choosing, all led by our engaging conference guests and ministry partners. Don’t miss the chance to hear “stories from the field” of how the Gospel is being shared and God is being glorified both globally and locally! Click here for a list of speaker bios and room assignments.

6:00-8:00 p.m. Missionfest Sessions - Kid Version
Kindergarten - 5th graders, similar to years past, you’ll be joining your parents as you all visit up to 4 different classrooms, but this year, we’ve created something just for YOU! In addition to learning what our conference guests get to do for Jesus on a daily basis, you’ll have a special scavenger hunt to complete… and did we mention there will be PRIZES? Be sure to pick up a scavenger hunt in the Missions Hallway before going to your first breakout session (additional details about the game will be provided on the handout).

SATURDAY, March 2

9:30-noon   Ladies Only: Meet & Greet… and Eat in the Gym
(Registration Required - Nursery Available by Reservation Only)
Calling ALL women of the church, this special time of fellowship is just for you! Prepare for a refreshing morning where we’ll have the privilege of hearing from some of our female conference guests. Whether they choose to share about their life as a missionary, as a ministry worker, as a mom, or as a wife, they all have one thing in common… They are all precious daughters of the King, as are you! A light brunch will be provided, thanks to our dear sisters of WOM (Women on Mission). Register online today, or stop by the conference signup tables in the Welcome Hall on Sunday mornings leading up to the conference.

9:30-noon   Men Only: Bowling & Lunch at Main Event (Registration Required)
Males of the church, it’s your time to shine! Brush up on those bowling skills and bring your appetites for a morning full of food, fun, and fellowship with our male conference guests. This is a great time to get to know our guests and other Cedar Springs men in a casual (yet potentially competitive, *cough, Piers van de Merwe, cough*) setting. Even if bowling isn’t your sport, still join us for the buffet! Register online today, or stop by the conference signup tables in the Welcome Hall on Sunday mornings leading up to the conference.

9:30-noon   Children’s Conference in the Watershed (Registration Required)
Kindergarten - 5th graders, if you think Thursday and Friday evening’s events, games, and lessons are awesome, you are NOT going to want to miss this. We have come up with even more Survivor-themed activities for you to enjoy! After all, we don’t want your moms and dads to have ALL the fun on Saturday morning, so make sure that they register you to attend by either going online today (click here) or stopping by the conference signup tables in the Welcome Hall on Sunday mornings leading up to the conference.

6:00 p.m. Take a conference guest(s) to supper

6:00 p.m. Children’s Conference in the Watershed
Kindergarten - 5th graders, this is the final night of our Global Missions Conference (we know, we’re sad too, but VBS will be here before you know it)! Be sure to join us as we seek to answer the big question, “Do YOU have what it takes to survive?”

7:30 p.m. All-Church Social with Light Supper served in the Gym
There’s no better way to conclude a conference than with an all-church social! Bring your entire family and come spend one last evening with our wonderful conference guests. We’ll have a large variety of foods to enjoy, and we encourage YOU to spend this time encouraging our GUESTS as they prepare to return to their Kingdom calling.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the 2019 Global Mission Conference! If you would like to host a guest for a meal, provide food for the all-church social, or volunteer to help with the children’s conference or nursery, please click here.
