"Psalm 133"

Scripture Reading:

Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore. - Psalm 133 ESV

Prayer: How good and pleasant it is, O God, when we do life together the way you intended it to be done. For that is the way you designed it to be - a beautiful expression of the very life of the Trinity lived out in relationships. It is a way of being that begins to reverse the effects of the fall and makes space for us to be fully known and fully loved once again.

It is so beautiful and so life-giving that it is like precious oil being poured on our heads - soothing, healing, and fragrant. It is like the dew of Hermon falling on Mount Zion. It is where you bestow your blessing, even life forevermore. Who in their right mind would not want to experience life like that?

So show us, O God, how to live life together in unity. Show us what it means and show us what it doesn't mean. Give us the grace and the courage to set aside our own individualistic mindsets and be continually committed to turning toward one another in love and unity. For you made us to live in community, not in isolation. So help us to do just that. Amen.

Prayer for our mission partners

Eric and Beth Yodis are facilitating church planting in eastern Ukraine. They are focused on helping with church planting in the city of Kiev. Pray today for all of the church planters in the Ukraine and for the country as they adjust to a newly elected president.

Joni and Friends Knoxville ministers to families and individuals affected by disabilities in Knoxville and Tennessee as well as in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and in Guatemala. The vision of Joni and Friends is to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community by communicating the gospel and equipping Christ-honoring churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disability. Pray today for all of the families that attended last month's Family Camp in Fort Bluff that they will continue to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Closing Prayer: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.
