Opening Prayer: O Lord, show me the wonders of your great love; keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. For you are my God. Amen.
Scripture: Psalm 17:7-8
Journal: Which of these three phrases is most relevant in your life and world these days: Show me the wonders of your great love, Keep me as the apple of your eye, or Hide me in the shadow of your wings? Why?
Reflection: Prayers are tools, but with this clarification: prayers are not tools for doing or getting, but for being and becoming. (Answering God by Eugene Peterson)
Prayer for the church, for others, for myself
Bruce and Laura Harris have been running SEND International's camp and conference ministry in the mountains of western Tokyo for many years. The Harrises are returning to church planting in 2018. They are now in the U.S. on home assignment to prepare for this new ministry. Pray today for development of their mission's church planting initiative in the greater Tokyo area. This involves building a team, working alongside Japanese churches and building a prayer base of believers on both sides of the ocean as well as raising necessary financial support.
The Restoration House (TRH) is working to help restore single mothers and their children back to God's good intent for their lives. Through transformational housing, team mentoring, and service planning, TRH is helping single mother families end cycles of poverty and distress. Pray today for all the families that TRH is reaching.
Closing Prayer: Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 17:7-8, NLT)
