Friday, January 17

6:30 p.m.

On Friday evening, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. we will be hosting a worship concert event in partnership with local churches that will feature music intentionally crafted around God’s call to love our neighbor as ourselves. The music will be performed by The Porter’s Gate, sacred, ecumenical art collective of worship musicians that is reimagining and recreating worship that welcomes, reflects and impacts both the community and the church. It was founded in 2017 with a mission to be a “porter” or one who looks beyond church doors for guests to welcome to the Christian Church. We hope that you will make plans to join us for this special night of worship. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Nursery for birth-PreK will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ABOUT PORTER'S GATE

The Porter’s Gate is a sacred ecumenical arts collective reimagining and recreating worship that welcomes, reflects and impacts both the community and the church. It was founded in 2017 with a mission to be a “porter” for the Christian Church — one who looks beyond church doors for guests to welcome.

The Porter’s Gate has released their second project, Neighbor Songs, featuring artists Josh Garrels, Audrey Assad, Casey J, Leslie Jordan (from All Sons & Daughters), Zach Bolen (of the band Citizens), Urban Doxology, Diana Gameros, Latifah Alattas, Lauren Goans, and Paul Zach, among others.

The 13-song album was born out of a gathering in January 2019, when songwriters, theologians, and worship leaders of The Porter’s Gate came together for a series of meaningful conversations about loving your neighbor. The intent was to address challenges in the church and cross lines of difference in order to facilitate healthy conversations. The result… 13 songs each intentionally crafted around God’s call to love our neighbor as ourselves.
