February 9, 2020
This week, our liturgical focus will be on Praise & Adoration.
"Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above"
We'll begin the morning with exactly that – Praise! "Sing praise to God who reigns above, the God of all creation, the God of power, the God of love, the God of our salvation. With healing balm, my soul is filled and every faithless murmur stilled: To God all praise and glory."
"Let Us Adore"
We then move to adoration: "The heavens declare the glory of God. And all of the world will join the praise, his wonders proclaim. Let us adore him, let us adore him, Jesus Christ is the Lord. Come and behold him, bow down before him, Jesus Christ is the Lord."
We'll conclude the corporate singing with a simple heart song to the Lord. Alleluia is simply a Hebrew expression that means "praise God!" "Alleluia, alleluia, for our Lord God Almighty reigns. Holy, holy, are you Lord God Almighty, worthy is the Lamb. Amen!"
Communion – "My Song is Love Unknown"
We approach the table with a reminder of what he has done: "My song is love unknown, my Savior's love to me. Love to the loveless shown, that they might lovely be. O who am I, that for my sake, O who am I that for my sake my Lord should take frail flesh and die?" Do note how this song ends as the tie into our morning: "This is my friend, in whose sweet praise, I all my days could gladly spend."
Response – "Come, Behold the Wondrous Mystery"
We will be sent back into the world to love and to serve with the Praise of the Lord on our lips for the truth of the gospel..."Praise the Lord! He is alive!"
